Beethoven

My name is Beethoven. My foster mum called me that because I am mostly deaf, but this does not impede me at all as I always stick close and am learning hand signals. I am about 9 years old so am an older boy. I was surrendered to the pound when my owner died. I was very overweight and have been on a diet the last few months to get me back in shape. I am now looking for a new home. I am great with other dogs and I love company so preferably where I will have another dog to hang around with. I am a sweet and gentle guy who loves my cuddles. I love being groomed to. I am house trained and will let you know when I want to go outside. I am looking for a home where I will have a nice garden to potter around and where someone will take me on short walks. It is also important that whoever adopts my keeps an eye on my weight so that don't revert back to my previous size. I like my short walks though and am very good on lead so this should be easy to maintain. I am generally a very easy going guy. I do have arthritis however, which was left untreated for a long time - I was very overweight then too which put a lot of weight on my joints. This has left me with paws/claws that are turned slightly inwards. But I am on metacam for this which helps me a alot and the girls at A Dogs Life say that they will supply my meds for life. I am great in the car....I quite like going for a spin. I also love my food and am not fussy with it. Once I have had my daily walks I am happy to sleep at your feed or lounge on the couch. My tail is always wagging because despite all I have been through I am ALWAYS happy. All in all I am looking for a nice quiet retirement home with a pal or two to hang out with where I will get love, food and gentle exercise for the rest of my days. I am looking for a home where someone is home most of the time as I like company. I am fully vaccinated, microchipped but not neutered as I am a bit old to be done now and the girls at A Dogs Life don't want to put me through it at this age. The girls at A Dogs Life say that they are not looking for a rehoming fee for me just the perfect retirement home where I will be very happy.
